David Leahy
DRACUT, MA – David E. Leahy, 51, beloved husband of Amy (French) Leahy died Tuesday, June 2nd, 2015 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH with his loving family by his side. He endured a 3 year courageous and valiant battle with cancer, a fight he never gave up. David was born in Natick, MA on November 23, 1963, son of Lee (Cummings) Norris and the late Raymond E. Leahy. He was a graduate of Burlington High School’s class of 1982 and studied at Northeastern University. For many years he worked as a Quality Manager for Precision Technologies in Tyngsboro and his family would like to express their gratitude for all the love and support this company has provided over the past few years. David enjoyed playing the drums and guitar, and he shared a passion for hockey and the Boston Bruins with his 9 year old son. His greatest joy came from his family whom he loved so much. David’s love of life, unsinkable sense of humor, and bravery during his illness serves as an inspiration. He is a hero to his family and will remain in their hearts forever. In addition to his loving wife Amy, David is survived and will be deeply missed by his son Cameron of Dracut, his daughter Jacquelyn of Boston; his mother Lee Norris and her husband Alan Norris of Burlington; his siblings Brian Leahy, Deb Haught, and Kelly Pivoney; his parents-in-law, Clay and Linda French of Dracut; and his non-biological “sister” Jackie McLoon. He was pre-deceased by his sister Lynda Leahy. Alexander Ogonowski
Dracut – Alexander F Ogonowski ,95, of longtime resident of Dracut died peacefully on June 2nd 2015. He was the loving husband of Theresa (Dawidowicz) Ogonowski with whom they recently celebrated 67 years of marriage. Alexander was born in Dracut the son of Jan and Apolonia (Jakubczyk) Ogonowski. Alexander received his early education in a one room school house in East Dracut. He graduated Dracut High School class of 1939. He attended the Massachusetts school of Agriculture (now University of mass Amherst-Stockbridge) and graduated in class on 1942 where he received a degree in animal Science. While in college he was a member of Alpha Tau Gamma fraternity. Immediately after college he joined the Army Air Corps and served as a B-17 bomber crewmember. He was honorable discharged after WW2 ended. Active in the agricultural community he was a member of the Mass Farm Bureau and served on the board of directors for many years. He owned and operated one of the largest farms in Dracut where he could be seen on his tractor until last summer. Active in many fraternal organizations, he was on the board of directors for the James Underwood Crockett foundation. He was a member of the Dracut grange # 216, Dracut historical society, Dracut American legion post 315, the Polish American Veterans of Lowell and the Holy Trinity Polish Catholic Church of Lowell which was started by his late uncle Monsignor Ogonowski. Alexander was employed by Standard oil of NJ ( now Exxon Mobil) for 39 years. After retiring he enjoyed travelling, particularly to visit his children and to the annual American Farm bureau conventions. Alexander had a great love for his family, his country, his farm and his community. He will be deeply missed by all of the lives he touched. Alexander is survived by his wife Theresa, Daughters LT Col Dolores Quigley USAF (ret) and her husband LT Col Hale Quigley USAF (ret) of Pensacola Fl and daughter Carol Ogonowski of Dracut . Sons LT Col James Ogonowski USAF (ret) and his Wife Kathleen of Dracut and son Joseph Ogonowski and his wife Inez of Newport Mi. a daughter in law Margaret Ogonowski Hatch of Dracut and a Brother Dr Albert S Ogonowski DDS of Dracut. Alexander also leaves 8 grandchildren Christine, Laura, Charles, Caroline, Catherine, Mary, Alexander and Alanna and 5 great grandchildren Mackenzie, James, Amelia, Sarah and Harrison and numerous nieces and nephews He was predeceased by his son Capt John Ogonowski pilot of American Airlines Flt 11 on Sept 11 2001. Also sisters Mary Swerchesky, Rose Panek and Helen Ogonowski and brothers Walter, Frank and Stanley. TYNGSBORO, MA- Thomas E. “Tom” Reed, 48, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, June 2, 2015. Born in Lowell on December 9, 1966, he was a son of John F. and the late Ruth Anne (White) Reed. Tom was a graduate of Greater Lowell Regional Vocational Technical High School in the Class of 1984. For many years, he was a Welder for Welch Welding in North Chelmsford, and then at various welding shops in the local area. In his spare time, Tom enjoyed carpentry, especially working on projects for his loved ones and he was also an avid dog lover. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He will always be remembered for his unique sense of humor, and his ability to make people laugh. In addition to his father, Tom is survived and will be deeply missed by his three siblings, Wayne Reed and his wife Diane of Lowell, Kimberly Costa of Nashua, NH, and Donna Reed Boucher and her husband Kevin of Hudson, NH; seven nieces and nephews, Eileen, Chelsea, Derek, Savanna, Brandon, Kyle, and Kayli; a great niece, Eden-Cass; a great nephew, Maximus; and his beloved dog J.J.; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. LOWELL- Catherine A. (Stowell) O’Brien died peacefully Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Mass General Hospital surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of James O’Brien, with whom she shared 39 years of marriage. Catherine was born in Lowell on December 6, 1951. She was the daughter of the late William F. and Gladys V. (Kelley) Stowell. She received her education from the Lowell School System and was a graduate of Keith Hall in Lowell. She then continued her education and graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Lowell State College. She was employed as a teacher for 37 years in Billerica beginning her career at The Kennedy Elementary and then most recently, The Parker Elementary School. Catherine loved spending time with her family, especially visiting the beach, “people” watching, and walking on the sand with her husband and son. She also loved trips to Disney World, Foxwoods, and watching her daily soap operas. She was a loving, caring, dedicated and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son James “Jake” O’Brien III of Lowell; her four siblings, William S. Stowell of East Taunton, Mary S. CHELMSFORD- Patricia L. O’Neill, 77, formerly of Tyngsboro, Germany, New York City, and St. Louis, MI, died peacefully on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Meadow Lodge Assisted Living. Patricia was born in Somerville, MA on January 10, 1938. She was the daughter of the late John Henry and Mary A. (O’Connell) O’Neill. She was educated in the Lowell School System and was a graduate of Lowell High School with the class of 1956. She then attended UMASS Lowell and graduated with the class of 1960. Prior to her retirement in 2002, she had been an employed civilian with the US Army in Bad Hersfeld, Germany. Most recently, she was employed in sales and reservations for over 35 years first at Trans World Airlines and then American Airlines. Patricia was a former member of the Music Educators National Conference, a member of the Irish National Caucus, Noetic Sciences, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. She enjoyed attending Opera, loved classical music, was an avid mountain climber, enjoyed international travel, reading and attending concerts. She is survived by her siblings, Monica (O’Neill) Liston and Terry (O’Neill) Pinsky. She was the sister of the late Eileen (O’Neill) Robarge, Margaret “Peggy” O’Neill, Mary Rose O’Neill, John “Duke” O’Neill, Timothy O’Neill, and Christopher O’Neill. Per her request, calling hours were omitted. TYNGSBORO, MA- James E. Bourque, 70, died peacefully on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Lowell General Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Susan (Costello) Bourque, with whom he shared many loving years of marriage. Born in Woburn, MA on October 3, 1944, he was a son of the late Joseph A. and Mary L. (Blanchard) Bourque. James was a graduate of Woburn High School, and then went on to proudly serve his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War until he was honorably discharged in 1968. James loved the outdoors. In his spare time, he enjoyed hiking and going on camping trips. He also liked to read, specifically about history and WWII. Above all, his most cherished time was spent with his family, especially his three grandchildren. In addition to his wife, James is survived and will be deeply missed by his two children, Mark J. Bourque and his fiancé Leah LeDuc of Tyngsboro, and Jason M. Bourque and his wife Natalie of Bedford, NH; three grandchildren, Alyssa, Blake, and Ethan; and a brother, Joseph Bourque and his wife Barbara of Indio, CA; as well as several nieces, cousins, and friends. DRACUT, MA- Georgia “Joy” (Vassilakos) Pascoe, 88, of Dracut Centre, died peacefully at her home on Monday, June 8, 2015. She was the wife of the late Roy E. Pascoe. Born in Lowell in 1926, Georgia was the daughter of the late Harilos and Katina ( Kourkoulakos) Vassilakos. Joy graduated as a U.S. Cadet Nurse from Lowell General Hospital Nursing School. She served as a Navy Wave at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Maryland. She worked at Lowell General Hospital for many years and retired as Head Nurse in the Oncology Unit. Joy is survived and will be deeply missed by her four children, Philip Pascoe and his companion Darlene Zagorites of Naples, FL, Lee Pascoe and his companion Aline Roy of Lowell, Mark Pascoe of Dracut, and Cathy Pascoe and her husband Ed Stevens of North Hampton, NH; her sister, Irene Lelos and her husband John of Lowell; her sister-in-law Effie Vassilakos of Lowell: three grandchildren, Jamie Pascoe (Cheryl), Jeff Pascoe (Julie) and Megan DeLucia (Nick): 8 great grandchildren, and many dear nieces and nephews. LOWELL- M. Priscilla (Roscoe) Bryant, 88, died peacefully on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at D’Youville Senior Care in Lowell. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard A. Bryant. Priscilla was born in Lowell on October 11, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Isadore and Jeanie (Hall) Roscoe. She was educated in the Lowell School System and was a graduate of Lowell High School with the class of 1945. Prior to her retirement, Priscilla was employed in the Boot Mills in Lowell and worked with corduroy threads and she was also employed at Sylvania Electric in Lowell in her early years. Priscilla was an avid knitter and was very passionate about crafting. During her lifetime, she made hundreds of sweaters, scarves, hats, baby items, booties, blankets, etc. for friends and relatives. Next to Mr. Bryant, knitting was her second love. She is survived by her two daughters, Sharon P. Robidas and her husband Ron of Pensacola, FL and Lynda Hammock of Vero Beach, FL; her brother George Roscoe and her sister Helen Roscoe of Nashua, NH. She is also survived by her two grandchildren William and Kristin DiMaggio; as well as her great-granddaughter Joselin Martinez and great-grandson Bentley DiMaggio. She is also survived by her very close friends, June DiMaggio of Salem, NH and Eve Megan of Dracut who cared very deeply for Priscilla. LOWELL, MA- Laura S. (Norkiewicz) Lyman, 71, a longtime resident of Lowell, but most recently of Punta Gorda, FL, died peacefully in Lowell on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Harry T. Lyman, with whom she celebrated 52 loving years of marriage on May 25th. Born in Lowell on March 16, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Stephen F. and Laura (Godlewska) Norkiewicz. She was a graduate of St. Stanilaus School, Lowell High School, and Lowell Secretarial College. Prior to her retirement, Laura worked as a Supervisor at the IRS for 29 years. In her spare time, Laura enjoyed playing Bingo and Cribbage, as well reading, golfing, and bowling. She also had a special knack for crocheting. She was a proud member the East End Ladies’ Auxiliary for many years. Laura will always be remembered for the everlasting love and adoration she showed her family. In addition to her husband, Harry, Laura is survived and will be deeply missed by her six children, Laura Garneau and her husband Larry, Stephen Lyman and his wife Darlene, Catherine George and her husband Anthony, John Lyman and his wife Robin, Marybeth Bailey and her husband Jim, and Christopher Lyman and his companion Karen Stepanski; and a sister, Anna O’Malley; as well as several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Joseph L. Pelletier WWII and Korean Veteran DRACUT- Joseph L. “Lee” Pelletier, 85, died peacefully, Tuesday, June 23rd, at his home with family by his side. Joe was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife Victoria (Janowicz) Pelletier, who passed on December 24, 2014. Joseph was born in Lowell, MA on August 21, 1929, son of the late Raymond and Blanche (Rochette) Pelletier. Joe was a loving husband, father, and gramps-pup. He met Vicky who had three children; married her and they later had a daughter. He loved all four children equally and unconditionally- teaching them to swim and fish while camping many summers on Cape Cod. He worked as a welder for many years and became management. He was very talented as family and friends turned to him as he did carpentry, plumbing, electrical, wall papering and painting. He enjoyed hot summers in the garden and weeding. Sunday afternoon Bingo with family, rides to Foxwoods, scratching lottery tickets, and working on crafts with Vicky.. He loved traveling cross country on Amtrak with his wife, visiting Las Vegas, Grand Canyon and San Francisco. He loved watching Red Sox Baseball games on TV, and especially loved playing Cribbage. Joe was proud to serve his country. He enlisted in the US Army on September 18, 1946 at the age of 17. He received his GED in Takashima, Japan where he was a welder for motor vehicles. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal on June 20, 1949. He later enlisted in the US Air Force on January 28, 1952 and was honorably discharged as Sergeant – Military Police on November 26, 1955. His tours of duty overseas included Japan, Africa and Germany. He is survived and loved by his four children, Janice (Pelletier) Estes and her husband Richard of Burlington, NC, Sharon Dupont and her partner Charles Maraganis of Lowell, Irving Joseph Whitcomb of Lowell and Victoria (Whitcomb) Mullin and her husband Robert of Hudson, NH; nine grandchildren, Jeff, Jennifer, Stephanie, Rob, Stephen, Andrea, Patty, Ryan, Candace; as well as 16 great grandchildren; sister, Blanche Aubin of Hudson, NH; sisters-in-law, Margaret Pelletier of South Yarmouth and Helen Baribeault of Dracut, as well as several nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his brother, Raymond Pelletier. The family would like to thank Kathy and Lynne his caregivers for the love and caring they gave to their dad. Dracut, MA- Lillian P. Hood, 93, passed away Monday, March 18th, at D’Youville Senior Care Center in Lowell. She was the widow of the late Iver A. Hood, who died September 11, 2001. Lillian was born in Canada, on February 19, 1920, and grew up in Waterbury Ctr., Vermont, a daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Roland Watson. Lillian dedicated her life to her husband and caring for her family. Lillian had a talent for sewing and was a seamstress for friends around Dracut . She also, loved gardening and needle crafts. She is survived and will be deeply missed by her 5 children; Patricia McBride and her husband Donald of Jacksonville, FL, Thomas Hood and his wife Bonnie of Hollywood, SC, Robert Hood and his wife Barbara of Fremont, NH, Linda Gauvreau and her husband Phillip of Dracut and Cheryl Winters and her husband William of Hillsborough, NH. Lowell, MA- Roberta A. (Guthrie) Tharpe, 77, passed away Wednesday, July 15th, peacefully, at her home with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Marvin L. Tharpe, until he passed away in 1971. Roberta was born in Maine on January 7, 1938, a daughter of the late Mabel P. (Nickerson) and Roland H. Guthrie. For almost 30 years, Roberta worked as a Library Aide for Greater Lowell Technical Vocational High School, where she instilled a love for reading in countless students over the years. Roberta loved to travel, especially with her sister. She enjoyed quilting and sewing, and spent much of her spare time gardening. Above all, her most cherished time was spent with her loving family. Roberta is survived and will be deeply missed by her 6 children, Rich Tharpe and his wife Cheryl of Lowell, Debbie Mitchell and her husband Don of Pelham, Steve Tharpe and his wife Norma of Pelham, Mike Tharpe and his companion Tina Klier of Dracut, Terry Joyce and her husband Tom of Tyngsboro, and Dave Tharpe of Lowell; 11 grandchildren, Rick, Joe, Jesse, Donny, Andrea, Holly, Heidi, Kim, Amanda, Chris, and Nick; three great grandchildren, Lucas, Thomas, and Nicholas; four siblings, Ruth McCartney and her husband Steve of Westford, Doc Guthrie and his wife Marikay of Lowell, Diane Sadowski and her husband Bob of Methuen, and Christine Bailey and her husband Kevin of Florida; her brother-in-law, Raleigh Tharpe and his wife Diane of South Carolina; her dear friends, Claire, Priscilla, Alex, Virginia, and Michelle; as well as many nieces and nephews. Arthur Ferrier
Lowell, MA- Arthur Paul Ferrier, 88, died Friday, July 17th, peacefully, at Fairhaven Nursing home. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Elizabeth “Edie” (Fettes) Ferrier in 2011. Arthur was born in Lowell, MA on March 12, 1927, a son of the late Mary (Corieria) and Alvin M. Ferrier. He was educated in Lowell and a graduate of Lowell High School. Arthur proudly served his country near the end of WWII until being honorably discharged from the US Army. For over 30 years, he was the President of Beauty Box, until his retirement. Arthur was an avid gardener. Working in his yard was one of his greatest joys. His yard was well-known for its beautiful summer flowers. Arthur also enjoyed summer barbecues with friends and family, playing pool, music, football and theater. He spent many wonderful weekends with his family in New York City, visiting his St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the Bronx Zoo, the American Museum of Natural History, and seeing Broadway plays. Arthur is survived and will be dearly missed by his 4 children, Beth Ferrier of San Francisco, CA, Art Ferrier and his wife Nancy of Nashua, NH, Gail Hamrick and her husband Michael of Forest Knolls, CA and Michael Ferrier of Lowell. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Emily Rapley, Allison Lear, Jennifer Bredemeier, and Brian Ferrier, and 5 cherished great-grandchildren, Sam, Baylee, Emilie, Arlo, and Elizabeth and many nieces and nephews. Stephanie Habery
NASHUA, NH- Stephanie Wanda (Lach) (Wisniewski) Habery, 94, formerly of Lowell, Massachusetts and The Villages, Florida, died on July 21, 2015. Stephanie was born in Lowell on January 28, 1921, daughter of the late Thomas and Anna Lach. She graduated from Lowell High School in 1938 where she was a Major in the Girl Officers and received a Carnegie Medal as well as many other scholastic honors. She graduated from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy after receiving the Pharmacy Prize in 1942 and proceeded to work as a chemist at Textron and pharmacist at Liggett. In 1947 she married Stanley J Wisniewski who later owned and operated Puritan Floor Covering in Lowell. In the 1960’s and 1970’s she served as a substitute teacher at Dracut High School and then became a full-time teacher in Science and Math. She moved to Nashua, NH in 1994 and married Stephen Habery in 1995. They moved to central Florida in 2002 where she was an avid Scrabble and Cribbage player. In 2012 Stephanie returned to Nashua, NH to Langdon Place Senior Living. Stephanie was a longtime member of St Casimir’s Polish National Catholic Church, the Kosciusko Foundation and the Polish Cultural Institute. She was known as a teacher, but also for her love of all things Polish including the beauty with which she sang Polish songs and spoke and wrote in Polish. Stephanie is the beloved wife of 20 years and sweetest sweetheart of Stephen Habery and is also survived by her children, Ilona Johnson and her husband Robert of Acton, MA, Melanie Wisniewski of Dallas, TX, and Lisa Wiedman and her husband Richard of Allison Park, PA; guardian and aunt of Diane Shawver and her husband Robert of Bethany Beach, DE; stepmother of Stephen Habery, Jr and his wife Daisy of Port Richey, FL, Suzanne Belanger and her husband Joseph of Nashua, NH, and Kathleen Ballantyne, of Port Richey, FL; aunt of Cheryl Blackburn and her husband Charles of Tewksbury, MA; loving grandmother of Judah and Hannah Solomon (William Cooke), Adam Johnson, and Michael and John Wiedman; great-grandmother to Macy and Tobias Cooke Solomon; great Aunt of Samantha, Parker and Cooper Shawver. Stephanie was predeceased by her first husband Stanley J Wisniewski; her brothers, Mitchell and Theodore Lach; and her nephew Theodore Lach Jr. Stephanie’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Langdon Place in Nashua for their care and compassion given to stephanie as well as her family. Mr. Dennis E. Corneau, 68, of Methuen, died Wednesday at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH. Born in Lawrence, Mr. Corneau had been an area resident all his life. A graduate of Methuen High School, he served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Mr. Corneau was a master electrician with Local 522 IBEW. He also worked at Gemini Electric. Mr. Corneau was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus Counsel 14725, An avid guitarist but most of all he loved to spend time with his family. Mr. Corneau is survived by his wife Elaine M. (Hesketh) Corneau, three daughters; Julie Little and her fiancé Mark Brady of Methuen, Ellen Beecy of Methuen, and Lynn Adyns of Newton, NH. One son Ryan Corneau and his wife Bernadette of Raymond, NH, one sister; Marline and her husband Richard Doucette of Derry, NH, one brother; Donald Corneau and his wife Rachael of Methuen, one son-in-law Jonathan Little. There are many grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
