DRACUT, MA- Mary G. (McCarthy) Rush, 87, passed away Sunday, January 4th, peacefully, at D’Youville Manor Senior Care Center, Lowell. She was the beloved widow of the late James H. Rush, who died on June 11, 1990. Mary was born in Malden, MA on April 20, 1927, daughter of the late James and Anna (Klaus) McCarthy. She was educated in Malden and a graduate of Malden High School. Mary worked for many years for the Metlife Insurance Company before starting a family. She was a member of St. Francis church in Dracut, and served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years. She volunteered as a girl scout leader, a member of various PTAs, at church functions, and worked at the voting polls. She is survived and will be deeply missed by her two daughters, Kathleen Stanton and her husband James of Salisbury, Lorraine Rush and her partner, Christine Wood of Milford, NH; son, Steven Rush and his wife, Barbara of Manchester, NH; daughter-in-law, Denise M. Rush of Lowell; six grandchildren, Ian, Jillian, Stephen and his wife Stephanie, Michael and his wife Ashley, Natalie and her fiancé Nick, and Jim and his wife Cassie; brother-in-law, Edward Bracken of Litchfield, NH; as well as four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son James Rush, who died on June 28, 2011 and her siblings, Peggy Bracken and James McCarthy. ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut, on WEDNESDAY, January 7th from 3-7 p.m. Her funeral will be held from the Funeral Home on THURSDAY January 8th at 7:45 AM followed by her Funeral Mass at 9 AM at St. Francis Church, Dracut.
