DONALD F. ROBITAILLE Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Son-in-law RRT, BS, MBA DRACUT- Donald F. Robitaille, 67, passed peacefully in his home on January 2, 2015 with loved ones at his side. Don was married to Elaine (Loffredo) Robitaille with whom they celebrated 46 years of marriage in August, 2014. Don was born on February 20, 1947 to Leo and Lucille (Cavanaugh) Robitaille in Springfield, MA. Don was a resident of Tyngsboro in his youth and attended Tyngsboro Public school until his high school years where he then attended Lowell High and graduated in 1964. He played the trumpet with the Notini Dance Band. He also served in the Army Reserves as a medic. He attended Lowell Tech and transferred to Northeastern University and graduated with a BS degree. He continued his education at Rivier in NH and graduated Summa Cum Laude with an MBA. He found his passion for the medical field in his early 20’s while being employed as an orderly at Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, MA. While at LGH as an orderly, he pursued a career in Respiratory Therapy. He later accepted a position at Choate Hospital in Woburn as Department Head of Respiratory Therapy and EKG Services. He is credited with managing and operating a startup Respiratory Home Care service Choate Hospital. After the merging of Choate-Symmes Hospitals, Don continued as Department Head for respiratory services. With the closing of these two merging hospitals, Don was then employed at Winchester Hospital in Winchester, MA as a staff therapist. he then transferred as a part-time respiratory therapist at New England Rehab and was entrepreneur of the Medical Storeroom in Woburn, MA. With the closing of his business, Don continued to work at New England Rehab in respiratory and retired from this position shortly after being diagnosed with cancer. Don was recognized by his family, friends, coworkers and customers as being a well-loved, compassionate and selfless person who willingly served those in need. In addition to his wife, Don is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Randy and Jen Robitaille and his grandchild Lilianna Robitaille. He leaves his mother-in-law, Dorella (Gingras) Loffredo. He leaves two brothers and their wives, Leo and Marie Robitaille of Dracut and Paul and Bonnie Robitaille of Connecticut. He leaves a brother-in-law and his wife, David and Gail Robitaille and their children, Alexander and Emma Charow of Vermont. He is the brother-in-law of the late Elaine (Robert) Loffredo and son-in-law of the late Fred Loffredo. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut, on THURSDAY, January 8th from 5 until 8 PM. All are welcome to report directly to St. Mary Magdalen Church, 95 Lakeview Avenue, TYNGSBORO where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated on FRIDAY, January 9th at 11 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be mailed to Team/Walk for Cancer Care, 295 Varnum Avenue, Lowell, MA.
