PELHAM, NH – Carolyn Lorraine (Mason) Law, 97, died peacefully on Friday, October 16 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Ernest M. Law, with whom she shared many wonderful years. Carolyn and Ernest were neighbors as children who grew up together as friends and were married before Ernest left for WWII. Born in Boston on April 23, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Alwyn C. and Lillian C. (Odiorne) Mason, decedent of the Odiorne family who were the first European settlers to New Hampshire in the 1660s after whom Odiorne Point in Rye, NH was named. Carolyn was a graduate of Methuen High School, and went on to attend the Lawrence General Hospital Registered Nursing Program where she earned her RN license. She spent many years as a nurse for Lawrence General Hospital until she went on to work as a private nurse before her retirement. In her prime Carolyn led a very active lifestyle, cross country skiing and gardening. She spent summers at Squam Lake picking blueberries from her canoe and diving from cliffs. In her retirement, Carolyn became an active member of the Pelham Community. She served on the Planning Board for a number of years maintaining the rural character of Pelham. A philanthropist, she made generous donations to the schools, library and Congregational Church. She volunteered on Pelham’s 250th Anniversary Committee and the Pelham Historical Society. Carolyn is survived and will be deeply missed by her two sons Jeffery Mason Law of Derry, NH, and Jonathan Law and his wife Kyle of Pelham, NH; her three grandchildren Jonathan and his wife Kaela of Pelham, Benjamin and Zachary of Nashua; her great granddaughter Demetra Law; and her sister Dorothy Clark of Vermont. She was predeceased by her husband and by her three brothers Alan, Hubert, and Russell Mason. CHELMSFORD, MA- Raymond G. Frechette, 88, a longtime resident of Dracut, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Palm Center Nursing Home in Chelmsford. He was the beloved wife of Doris I. (Lemieux) Frechette with whom he celebrated 65 loving years of marriage with in July. Born in Lowell on September 17, 1927, he was a son of the late George and Severine (Guilmette) Frechette. Raymond proudly served his country as a Seaman, First Class in the United States Navy during WWII until he was honorably discharged in 1946. He spent the majority of his career at Great Bear Water Co., where he worked for over 35 years. He also worked for Thompson Water Cooler Company and Poland Springs. In his spare time, Raymond enjoyed fishing. He was also a proud member of the American Legion “Foxhole” Post 48 in Hudson, NH. In addition to his wife, he is survived and will be deeply missed by his two sons, Armand R. Frechette and his wife June of Hudson, NH, and Robert J. Frechette, Sr. of FL; four grandchildren, Rebecca and Robert J. Frechette, Jr. and wife Carla, both of FL and Amanda M. and Ava M. Scott of Hudson, NH; 3 great-grandsons, Hunter, Mason, and Ian; as well as several nieces and nephews. In Honor of Paul Andrew Donohoe II- Beloved husband, father, brother and friend TYNGSBORO, MA- Paul Andrew Donohoe II, passed away Tuesday, October 20th, at his home, surrounded by the love, support, peace and comfort of his family, after losing his battle to Multiple Sclerosis. Paul is survived by his wife of 35 years, Connie Dina (Nicolakakis) Donohoe. Paul was born in Lowell, MA on October 23, 1957, a son of the late Cecile R. (Lavallee) and Paul A. Donohoe. He was educated in Lowell and a graduate of Lowell High School. Most recently Paul worked for Dolben Company as a maintenance manager at Kensington Properties in Chelmsford, until retiring due to his illness. Paul enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, skiing, traveling and watching his favorite sports teams on TV. However he enjoyed nothing more then just spending time and being with his family. Some of his greatest memories were created with his family while visiting their summer home on Frye Island in Maine, where they would go boating, swimming and water skiing. In addition to his wife Connie, Paul is survived by his children whom he was so proud of, Paul A. Mr. Thomas G. Vallante, 80 of Lawrence died Thursday, October 22nd at Mary Immaculate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Lawrence to Thomas and Elizabeth (Tripoli) Vallante. He had been an area resident all his life. Mr. Vallante was an employee of Grieco Brothers Inc. until his retirement in 2000. Mr. Vallante served honorably in the United States Army. He enjoyed good food, music, and movies but most of all he loved to spend time with his family. He was pre-deceased by his four sisters; Louise Grasso, Margret Lucente, Mary Fazio, Helen Tardugno. HUDSON, NH- Cecile R. (Dubois) (Glaude) Masse, 90, died peacefully, Saturday, October 24th, at The Inn at Fairview in Hudson, NH. Cecile was born in Lowell, MA on September 10, 1925, a daughter of the late Alice (Ryan) and Antonio Dubois. She was educated in the Lowell school system. Cecile dedicated and devoted her life to taking care of her family, whom she loved dearly. She was truly a prime example of how a loving wife, mother, and grandmother should be. Family was Cecile’s main focus throughout her life. Nothing made her happier than having her children and grandchildren gathered in one place to celebrate a holiday or birthday. She also loved to travel, making frequent trips with family to Disney World and Las Vegas. She often traveled to Foxwoods Casino with her good friends. Cecile was happiest when surrounded by people. Cecile was the widow of the late Raoul V. Glaude and the late Edward Masse. She is survived and will be deeply missed by her four children; Ronald P. Glaude of Lowell, Suzanne Lord and her husband Roger of Little Compton, RI, Denis Glaude and his wife Bernice of Pelham, NH, and David Glaude and his wife Mary of Pelham, NH. She was the longtime companion of James M. Bowden. Born in Lowell on March 1, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Viola (Gucwa) Zurawski. Victoria was educated in the Dracut school system, and was a graduate of Dracut High School. Prior to her retirement, Victoria worked for the US Department of Agriculture for over 20 years. In her spare time, Victoria enjoyed reading, as well as quilting and crocheting. Above all, her most cherished time was spent with her family, whether it was camping with them, going to the beach, or simply visiting. She is survived and will be deeply missed by her two children, David Mello and his wife Wendy of Nashua, NH, and Kerry DiPersio and her husband Jay of Tyngsboro; three siblings, Betty Dufresne, her twin sister, of North Andover, Francy Watjus and her husband Gary of Stow, and Jackie “Zeke” Zurawski and his wife Pauline of Dracut; and three grandchildren, Joshua, Katelyn, and Nicole; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was educated in the Lowell School System and was a gradute of Lowell High School. Prior to her retirement, Suzanne worked as the Head of Transportation at the Bedford VA for 37 years. In her spare time, Suzanne enjoyed working outside in her garden and listening to music. She was extremely proud of her Irish heritage and loved nothing more than spending time with, and being surrounded by her family. She is survived and will be deeply missed by her two sons, Scott B. Barrett, and Matthew D. Barrett and his wife Donna, all of Dracut; a sister, Betty Hammer and her husband Brian of New Boston, NH; three grandchildren, Isabella, Jack, and Wesley Barrett, as well as one on the way; her companion, Jim Carr of Boston; and her beloved dog, Cooper. NASHUA, NH- Daniel A. Fusconi, 90, died peacefully, Monday, October 26, 2015 at Langdon Place in Nashua, NH. Dan was the beloved husband of the late Mary (Higgins) Fusconi and they were happily married for over 50 years. Dan was born in Lowell on June 10, 1925 as the son of the late Celeste ” Oscar” and Olga (Lenzi) Fusconi. He grew up in Lowell and was a graduate of Lowell High School with the class of 1942. Dan spent the majority of his working career as a Sales Engineer working for Menzel, a German Machinery Manufacturer. Dan was an all-around nice man, loved people, had a charismatic personality, a great sense of humor, and a very strong work ethic. He ultimately rose to Regional Sales Manager and lead the company in sales for many years. However Dan’s primary passion was singing and he excelled at it. He was a well known professional tenor in the Lowell/Southern NH area, and especially loved the opera. He played the leading role in many classic operas produced by the Lowell Opera Company and Boston Opera Company including La Traviata, La Boheme, Lucia di Lammermoor, and Rigoletto. The operas were done in concert style and his sales career allowed him the time to memorize and practice during his travels throughout the country and Europe.. Dan loved his family deeply and he will be missed greatly. He is survived by his three children and their spouses, Mary Fusconi and John Harris of Merrimack, NH, Daniel Fusconi of Chelmsford, MA., and David Fusconi and Caitlin Hamer of Mattapoisett, MA; his sister Norma Frechette and her husband Richard of Pelham, NH; his three grandchildren, Amanda and Ashley Fusconi of Lowell, and Danielle Fusconi of Chelmsford; his best friend Jane LoCicero of Nashua; as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Robert J. Carolan passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday morning. He was 71. Born and raised in Watertown, he was the son of the late Patrick a native of Co. Mayo Ireland and the late Julia (Connearney) Carolan, a native of Lexington, MA. He served with the US Airforce during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany. After his honorable discharge he graduated from Bentley College and enjoyed a long career as the controller with DCNE in Malden, until his retirement. Bob loved reading, travelling, history and spending time with family and friends. He was grateful for Visiting Angels of Chelmsford who helped care for him for over five years. The beloved husband of the late Eileen (Little) who passed away in 1993, he was a devoted father to Kellianne Pesina, Patricia Fraser and her husband Jared, all of Dracut. He was a loving grandfather to Julia Pesina and Autumn Fraser, both of Dracut. The dear brother of Joan M. Ryder of Framingham and the late Paul Carolan formerly of Georgia, he is also survived by his nieces, nephews and Cat, Buddy whom he adopted and raised when he was a kitten. LOWELL- Patricia Ann (McQuade) Lobas, 69, died peacefully Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Russell Robert Lobas with whom she shared 53 years of marriage. Patricia was born in Lowell on January 17, 1946. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Frances (Durfee) McQuade. She was educated in the Lowell School System and attended Lowell High School as well as classes at Middlesex Community College. Patricia was employed by the Lowell School Department as a secretary for many years and she was most recently employed at the Laura Lee Therapeutic Day School. She was very active within her community, volunteering her time at the Lowell Association for the Blind, House of Hope, as well as being a Eucharistic minister at Lowell General Hospital. In her free time she enjoyed going to the gym, yard sale shopping, movies, and reading. Patricia was a member of the Elks Esq. #87. She loved to play Bingo and was always cooking for her family. She was the Red Sox #1 fan and enjoyed watching every game. Above all, her most cherished time was spent with her loving family. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three sons, Russell R. Lobas Jr. of Lowell, William J. Lobas and his wife Lisa of Amherst, NH, Andrew T. Doris attended Dracut High School and later worked as an Electronic Assembler at Sanders Associates for over 30 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed many years of boating with her husband on Lake Winnpesaukeei, traveling with her daughter and son in law, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Frances was educated in the Lowell school system and was a graduate of Lowell High School. Throughout the span of her career, Frances worked for a variety of companies, some of which include Alexander’s Supermarket, Hallisey Chevrolet, Raytheon, The IRS, and Microtouch. Frances was a beloved member of the community, and could be frequently found at various craft and church groups. Above all, her most cherished time was spent with her family, especially when it came to traveling and celebrating the holidays. In addition to her husband, she is survived and will be deeply missed by her three children, John Perry of Hampton, NH, Paula Booze and her husband James of Dracut, and Stephen Perry and his wife Sandra of Dracut; and three grandchildren, Christopher Booze or Merrimack, NH, Timothy Booze of Dracut, and Kristin Perry of Dracut. DRACUT, MA – Stanley J. Strykowski Sr., 90, died peacefully Saturday, November 21, 2015 at his home, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 67 years to the late Claire J. (Sylvestre) Strykowski. Born in Lowell on May 13, 1925, Stanley was the son of the late Jan and Tekla (Szafran) Strykowski. He was educated in Lowell and a graduate of Lowell High School. Stanley served his country proudly as part of the US Navy during WWII until being honorably discharged at wars end. For 42 years, Stanley worked as a book binder at Courier Citizen. Stanley was a member of the Polish American Vets in Lowell, where he served on the honor guard, and then went on to serve as Sergeant of Arms for the State department PAV. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Lowell Seniors. He enjoyed traveling and site seeing and loved dancing, especially Polka Dancing, which was his favorite. Stanley is survived and will be deeply missed by his daughters, Donna Strykowski of Chelmsford and Karen Strykowski and her wife Traci of Dracut; 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Stanley and his siblings, Frank Strykowski, Sophie Winn and Stella Diamontopolous. CONCORD, MA- Pauline M. (Phillips) Carpenter, 91, died peacefully, on Wednesday, November 25th at the Concord Healthcare Center in Concord, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late George D. Carpenter, with whom she spent 63 loving years of marriage until his passing in 2008. Born in Salem, MA on August 4, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Lillian (Brown) Phillips. Pauline was a graduate of Somerville High School, and then went on to spend the WWII years of her life as a welder in the Charlestown Navy Yard. After the war, she lovingly raised her family and worked as a Data Entry Operator until her retirement. Pauline is survived and will be deeply missed by her four children, George D. Carpenter, Jr. of CO, Joanne M. Wicks and her husband Walter of CT, Darlene Beard and her husband Gary of MD, and Paul Carpenter and his wife Krystyna of Tyngsboro, MA; 7 grandchildren, Alisa Champa, Joshua Carpenter, Amanda Kulaga, James Wicks, Carolyn Raupach, Cheryl Beard, and Jodi Martin; as well as 19 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her much beloved daughter, Cheryl Green. Maria Koutrobis
LOWELL- Maria (Debelis) Koutrobis, 94, formerly of Dracut, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Heritage Skilled Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late George Koutrobis, who predeceased her in 1992. Maria was born in Nashua on January 2, 1921. She was the daughter of the late Peter and Anastasia (Apostolopoulos) Debelis. Prior to her retirement, she owned and operated her own interior decorating company from her home for several years. In her free time, she enjoyed crafts, crocheting, knitting, and sewing. Above all her most cherished time was spent with her family, especially time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her great-great grandson. She is survived by her three children, Catherine DeFabio of Dracut, William Koutrobis of Lowell, and Ann Shanahan of Dracut; her sister Mamie Groenendal of Lowell. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. In addition to her husband, Maria was predeceased by her son Christos Koutrobis; her brothers Nick, Sam, Angelo, John, Ernie, and Charles, as well as her sister Judith. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on WEDNESDAY, Dec. 2nd at The Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church 1160 Mammoth Road, Dracut, from 10 until 11 a.m. Her Funeral Service will follow in the Church at 11 a.m. Interment in Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell. Charles Abdinoor
BOSTON- Charles Abdinoor, 89, of Dracut, died peacefully, Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Boston Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Bernice M. (Rowe) Abdinoor with whom he shared 66 loving and beautiful years of marriage. Charles was born in Lawrence on January 14, 1926, son of the late Michael and Selma (Hyick) Abdinoor. He was educated in the Lawrence School system and graduated from Lawrence High School. He proudly served his country during WWII. He was enlisted on July 19, 1944 in the United States Army within the 83rd Infantry Division. He was honorably discharged in June of 1946. Prior to his retirement, Charles was employed as a carpet installer for Sears and later work within his family business, Abdinoor Carpet Craft of Dracut. Most recently, in the summer of 2015, Charles was awarded the Legion of Honor for his honorable service in France and also received the European Theater Medal. He was a very proud member of the 83rd Infantry Division and was the lead organizer of annual reunions with other veterans of the same division. He was also the one to notice that the yearly reunions were diminishing with every year passing when thousands of veterans were dying daily. In a newspaper article written in 2005, Charles made it clear that he not only wanted the veterans to attend the gatherings, but he wanted later generations to come and connect history to their loved ones service. “They might pick up something that they didn’t learn just in general history class.” – Charles Abdinoor Charles faithfully visited the VA Clinic, attended weekly meetings, and volunteered where needed. In addition to his wife, he is survived and will be deeply missed by his three children, Michael Abdinoor, Steven Abdinoor, and Susan Doyle and her husband John all of Dracut; his grandchildren Joelle Johnson and her husband Stephen, Amy Doyle, and Michael and Stacy Abdinoor; and three great-grandchildren. He was the survivor of his seven siblings.
