Lowell, MA- Zilpha B. Hogan, 91,a longtime resident of Pelham,NH, died peacefully, Saturday, October 11th at the Courville of Nashua, with her family by her side. Zilpha was the loving widow of the late Paul Hogan, a wounded World War II veteran and Purple Heart recipient, who passed away in 1962. . Zilpha was born in Lowell, MA on January 25, 1923, a daughter of the late Cora (Smith) and Daniel Carleton. She was raised in Pelham and was a graduate of Lowell high School. For over 25 years, Zilpha worked for Raytheon as a system analyst More than anything, Zilpha loved to laugh, whether it was taking pennies from her nieces and nephews in a high stakes game of poker or spending an afternoon at Foxwoods with her Raytheon friends . She was an ardent supporter and fan of the Red Sox and Celtics. Zilpha was predeceased by her husband and her siblings, Alice Martina Carleton Kinne and Daniel Carleton. She is survived by her niece and nephew, Marlene Hulme and Bradford Kinne and their spouses; 5 great nieces and nephews, Danielle King, John Hulme, Kristen Kinne Winant, Dana Kinne, Jocelyn Kinne Cooney; one very special friend, Kahlim Law Miller; and 9 great-great nieces and nephews. ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 11-1 p.m. on WEDNESDAY, October 15th at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT, with her funeral Service to follow at 1 p.m. Interment at Gibson Cemetery, Pelham, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Zilpha’s name to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute c/o the Jimmy Fund P.O. Box 849168 Boston, MA 02284-9168.
