J. Rita Landry
DRACUT- J. Rita Landry, 68, passed away Thursday, August 28th, at her home , with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Armand M. Landry, to whom she was married for 48 years. Rita was born in Lowell, MA on March 20, 1946, a daughter of the late Simone E. (Courtois) and Victor A. Carignan. She was educated in Lowell and a graduate of Keith Hall. For many years she worked as a book keeper, most recently for Hannaford’s in Pelham. Rita enjoyed life. She loved to travel, appreciating distant visits to Turkey, Italy, Spain, and Greece, while also taking in some of America’s finest destinations such as Alaska and Hawaii. When she wasn’t flying across the globe, she was cruising the high seas visiting as many of the sunny Caribbean islands as possible. In between such adventures, she relaxed by camping and fishing in some of New England’s most beautiful places. Rita also loved games—she was a bingo all-star and could often be found playing cribbage, the kings game, or any other dealer’s choice. After the birthday candles had long been blown out and the lights went down, it was time to pull out the change jars. What made these times so special to Rita, however, was that they were spent with family. Very few were the moments without her husband, siblings, children, grandchildren, in-laws, nieces, nephews, or friends to celebrate life with by her side. To Rita, life meant much more when shared with others. Along with her husband Armand, she is survived and will be deeply missed by her 4 children, Brian V.
