DRACUT- Maurice A. “Moe” Normandin, 77, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, February 6, 2015, surrounded by his loving family after a brief and brave battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of the late Ghislaine “Jessie” (Gosselin) Normandin. Moe was born in Lowell on July 9, 1938 and was the son of the late Clovis and Blanche (St. Onge) Normandin. He attended and graduated Lowell Trade School. He was employed as a crane operator for Crane Rental Co. for 30 years. Also, owned and operated AAA Crane for 10 years. Moe loved traveling, particularly the month long cross country trip he took with his wife, Jessie. He enjoyed his trips to Mohegan Sun and Montreal Canada. He was an avid hockey fan and was a season ticket holder for the Manchester Monarchs and for the Lowell Loch Monsters. Moe was a member of the Local 4 Union, Operating Engineers. Above all, his most cherished time was spent with his family. Moe is survived by his four children, Ron Normandin and his wife Rachel of Hudson, NH, Diane Sawlan and her husband Ray of Dracut, Michelle Normandin of Lowell, and Mark Normandin and his wife Debra of Lowell; his sisters Gloria Mazza and her husband Joe of Haverhill and Loretta Howard and her husband Ken of Lowell; his six grandchildren, Eric Normandin; Samantha Sawlan and her boyfriend Greg Gaetano, Haleigh Sawlan and her fiancé Jon Hickey; Kyle, Cody, and Danielle Normandin; and one great-grandchild, Daelyn Normandin. Moe is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and good friends, especially Jack Turpin of Dracut and his late wife Dianne Turpin; Special neighbors Paul and Carol Phillips of Dracut, ” Paul, I wrote my own material.” Moe is predeceased by his brother Raymond Normandin. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut on THURSDAY, Feb. 11th from 3 until 8 p.m. His Funeral will be held from the Funeral Home on FRIDAY at 8 a.m. followed by his Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. at St. Francis Church, Dracut. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
