NASHUA, NH- Stephanie Wanda (Lach) (Wisniewski) Habery, 94, formerly of Lowell, Massachusetts and The Villages, Florida, died on July 21, 2015. Stephanie was born in Lowell on January 28, 1921, daughter of the late Thomas and Anna Lach. She graduated from Lowell High School in 1938 where she was a Major in the Girl Officers and received a Carnegie Medal as well as many other scholastic honors. She graduated from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy after receiving the Pharmacy Prize in 1942 and proceeded to work as a chemist at Textron and pharmacist at Liggett. In 1947 she married Stanley J Wisniewski who later owned and operated Puritan Floor Covering in Lowell. In the 1960’s and 1970’s she served as a substitute teacher at Dracut High School and then became a full-time teacher in Science and Math. She moved to Nashua, NH in 1994 and married Stephen Habery in 1995. They moved to central Florida in 2002 where she was an avid Scrabble and Cribbage player. In 2012 Stephanie returned to Nashua, NH to Langdon Place Senior Living. Stephanie was a longtime member of St Casimir’s Polish National Catholic Church, the Kosciusko Foundation and the Polish Cultural Institute. She was known as a teacher, but also for her love of all things Polish including the beauty with which she sang Polish songs and spoke and wrote in Polish. Stephanie is the beloved wife of 20 years and sweetest sweetheart of Stephen Habery and is also survived by her children, Ilona Johnson and her husband Robert of Acton, MA, Melanie Wisniewski of Dallas, TX, and Lisa Wiedman and her husband Richard of Allison Park, PA; guardian and aunt of Diane Shawver and her husband Robert of Bethany Beach, DE; stepmother of Stephen Habery, Jr and his wife Daisy of Port Richey, FL, Suzanne Belanger and her husband Joseph of Nashua, NH, and Kathleen Ballantyne, of Port Richey, FL; aunt of Cheryl Blackburn and her husband Charles of Tewksbury, MA; loving grandmother of Judah and Hannah Solomon (William Cooke), Adam Johnson, and Michael and John Wiedman; great-grandmother to Macy and Tobias Cooke Solomon; great Aunt of Samantha, Parker and Cooper Shawver. Stephanie was predeceased by her first husband Stanley J Wisniewski; her brothers, Mitchell and Theodore Lach; and her nephew Theodore Lach Jr. Stephanie’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Langdon Place in Nashua for their care and compassion given to stephanie as well as her family.
