Dracut, MA – Jeanne D. (Davidson) Major, 81, died Monday, November 4th, at Winagte at Belvidere in Lowell. She was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence G. Major who passed away on July 20, 2013.
Jeanne was born in Dracut, on March 30, 1932, daughter of the late Edward H. and Alberta (Pilotte) Davidson. She graduated from Dracut High School and attended Commercial College.
Jeanne worked as a Supervisor for the IRS in Andover for over 30 years.
In her free time, she enjoyed reading and taking many trips to Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. She was also an avid sports fan and especially loved the Red Sox and Patriots.
Jeanne is survived and will be deeply missed by her sister-in-law, Dolores Whetsell of Lowell; brother-in-law, Douglas Major of Merritt Island, FL; nieces and nephews, Susan Mascott of Brookline, NH, Christopher Smith of Lowell, Nancy Harding of Cumberland, RI, Kim Whetsell of Alexandria, VA; cousins, Carol Hodgson of Dracut, Dennis Girard and his wife Kathy of Waban, MA, and Channing Fuller and his wife Sue of NH, as well as many other nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 9-10 a.m. on THURSDAY, November 7th at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Ave. Dracut. Her funeral service will be held also on THURSDAY at 10:45 a.m. in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery Chapel with her burial to follow.
