DRACUT- Henry Bardzik, 88, passed away peacefully Sunday Morning, September 28, 2014, after a brief illness at The Bedford Veterans Hospital. Henry was the beloved wife of Wanda (Klatka) Bardzik with whom he shared 66 years of marriage. Henry was born in Dracut on January 30, 1926. He was the son of the late John and Stefania (Nawrocka) Bardzik. He proudly served his country during WWII in the Untied States Marines with the 6th Marine Division in the South Pacific. He was wounded at Sugar Loaf Hill and was awarded a Purple Heart when he was honorably discharged. Prior to his retirement, Henry owned and operated his barbershop for 30 years and later opened another business, NE Metals and worked with various precious metals. Henry was a dedicated parishioner of The Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity and helped with many activities. He especially loved cooking of the Pierogis. He was a member of the Polish American Veterans, the Dom Polski Club, Disabled Veterans, the Holy Trinity Senior Citizens, and was a VFW member of Lowell with post #662. Henry enjoyed carpentry work. He even built his own home, his barbershop as well as the building for his most recent company, NE Metals. In his free time, he was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling and absolutely loved to take all of his children fishing to various lakes in New Hampshire. Above all, his time with his family was what he enjoyed most, and he will be deeply missed. In addition to his wife, Henry is survived by his four sons, Michael Bardzik and his wife Jessica Bardzik Danh of New Port Ritchey, FL, Henry Bardzik and his wife Amy of Isleboro, MA, David Bardzik and Robert Bardzik both of Effinham, NH; his two daughters, Kathleen Descoteaux of Dracut, and Patricia Millman of Summerworth, NH; and his brother John Bardzik and his wife Mary of Dracut. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, Jason, Benjamin, Shaun, Steven, Christopher, Jenna, Elissa, Melissa, and Victoria; and his three great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Aaliyah, and Lana. Henry was predeceased by his five siblings. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut on WEDNESDAY, October 1st, from 4 until 8 PM. His Funeral will be held from the Funeral Home on THURSDAY, October 2nd at 9 AM followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 AM in The Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity, Lowell. Interment to follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lowell. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Henry’s name to The Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity 340 High Street, Lowell, MA 01852.
