Pasquale Tomasello, 71, of Dracut passed away July 1st at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Bagheria, Italy son of the late Cosimo and Anna (DeLorenzo) Tomasello. Pasquale was raised and educated in Sicily and was a member of the Italian Army for a few years. He also lived in Germany before immigrating to the US in 1970. He worked for DeLucca Fence Company for 30 years before retiring and he was also a member of the Sons of Italy.

Pasquale is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Vincenza (Vitale) Tomasello of Dracut, a son David Tomasello and his wife Stacey of Salem NH, a daughter Anna Tomasello of E. Providence RI, three grandchildren Anthony and Meghan Tomasello and Evan Donahue, two sisters Giuseppa Leone-Tomasello and Concetta Leone-Tomasello both of Italy, several nieces and nephews and a late brother Angelo Tomasello.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a mass of Christian Burial on Monday July 8th at 11 AM at St Monica’s Church in Methuen with Entombment to follow at St Mary Immaculate Mausoleum in Lawrence. He was born in Stoneham, MA, grew up and was educated in Dracut, MA. He was a resident of Salem for the past 2 years, formerly of Dracut.

Tony worked as a roofer for Local Union 33 in Stoughton, MA. Tony loved his job, but mostly he loved his family and playing with his children.

Antoinette R. Brox 7/25/2013 Dracut, MA

Dracut – Antoinette R. Brox passed away peacefully on July 25, 2013 at her home in Dracut, MA. She was 93 years old. She will be remembered for her quiet grace and her patience.

Born in Lawrence, MA on March 31, 1920, Antoinette was the youngest daughter of Nicola and Sabbatina Rossi, who had immigrated to Lawrence from Fontegreca, Italy. Her two sisters, Antimina and Joanne, predeceased her.

After her graduation from McIntosh School of Business in Lawrence, Antoinette worked in the Merrimack Valley office the New England Milk Producers Association where she met her husband, farmer and state representative, John Brox. They married in 1952, and she began an entirely new chapter in her life, leaving the city of Lawrence to make a home and raise four children on the Brox Farm in Dracut.

Her husband, John Brox, died in 1995. Their children, Margaret of Rumney, NH; John of Dracut; Jane of Brunswick, ME; and Robert of Valence, France survive her. She is also survived by three grandchildren – Nathan Everts of Rumney; Kathryn Everts of Dover, NH; and Elliott Brox of Valence; her son-in-law, Brian Flynn of Rumney, and her daughter-in-law, Sandrine Robin of Valence. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Her niece, Margaret Ciardello of Lawrence was particularly close to her, and a companion to her in later years.

Family and friends will honor and celebrate Antoinette’s life by gathering for calling hours at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen on Wednesday, July 31st from 4-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Francis Church in Dracut on Thursday, August 1st at 9 AM. Burial will follow in Richardson Cemetery in Dracut.

The family has requested, in Antoinette’s honor, memorial contributions be made to St. Francis Parish, 115 Wheeler Road, Dracut, MA 01826 or to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack Street, Bldg. 9, Lawrence, MA 01843.

In Loving Memory of Donna Punch

Donna Punch was an amazing woman. She was the wife of Robert Punch whom she loved with her whole heart and sole. She is survived by three children James Doucette, Michelle Thornton, Brian Punch whom she loved more than life itself. She is also survived by 5 grandsons Kevin Thornton, Joseph Thornton, James Doucette, Cameron Doucette, & Scott Doucette which were her whole world. She is also survived by 2 great grand children Nevaeh Doucette, Able Searle whom she also loved very much. She also loved her Son in Law Bill Thornton. She was extremely gifted with such talents as sewing, crocheting, quilting and Poetry writing. Through out her life she had many life experiences. She was a great listener and would help anyone in need despite the circumstance. Donna my mom was an extremely spiritual person who believed in heaven and god. Donna had many friends through out her life; everyone who had the good fortune to meet her also grew to love her. Donna lived well loved passionately and gave whole heartily.

Dracut, MA- Antoinette Marion, 107, lifelong resident of Dracut, died Sunday, November 3rd, at D’Youville Manor Senior Care Center.

Antoinette was born in Lowell, MA on May 15, 1906, a daughter of the late Malvina (Jodoin) and Israel Marion.

For many years, Antoinette worked at various Mills in Lowell and was a talented seamstress.

Antoinette was a very active woman, even shoveling her own walk way until the age of 104. She enjoyed being in her yard and cooking for her family and friends.

Antoinette is survived by her 3 nieces, Theresa Paquin of Dracut, Muriel Topjian of Westford, and Rita Smith of Fitchburg; nephew Robert Marion of Tyngsboro, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Maria Polites and Rose Cote, and brothers, Eugene and Henri Marion.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 8:30-10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6th at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. Her funeral Mass will then follow at 11 a.m. at Ste. Marguerite D’Youville Parish/ St. Theresa’s Church.
Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, MA.

Dracut, MA – Jeanne D. (Davidson) Major, 81, died Monday, November 4th, at Winagte at Belvidere in Lowell. She was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence G. Major who passed away on July 20, 2013.

Jeanne was born in Dracut, on March 30, 1932, daughter of the late Edward H. and Alberta (Pilotte) Davidson. She graduated from Dracut High School and attended Commercial College.

Jeanne worked as a Supervisor for the IRS in Andover for over 30 years.

In her free time, she enjoyed reading and taking many trips to Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. She was also an avid sports fan and especially loved the Red Sox and Patriots.

Jeanne is survived and will be deeply missed by her sister-in-law, Dolores Whetsell of Lowell; brother-in-law, Douglas Major of Merritt Island, FL; nieces and nephews, Susan Mascott of Brookline, NH, Christopher Smith of Lowell, Nancy Harding of Cumberland, RI, Kim Whetsell of Alexandria, VA; cousins, Carol Hodgson of Dracut, Dennis Girard and his wife Kathy of Waban, MA, and Channing Fuller and his wife Sue of NH, as well as many other nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.

Arthur LaPlante

Nashua, NH- Arthur J. LaPlante, 70, formerly of Lowell, died Tuesday, November 5th, at Southern New Hampshire Regional Medical Center, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Lorraine E. (Langlais) LaPlante with whom he shared 46 years of marriage.

Arthur was born in Lowell, MA on March 3, 1943, a son of the late Helen (Keane) and Joseph A. LaPlante. He was educated in Lowell and a graduate of Lowell High School. Arthur also served his country proudly as a member of the US Air Force during the Vietnam War.

For over 30 years, Arthur worked as a Civil Engineer at Hanscom Air Force Base until retiring in 2003. He was also a Master Plumber in Massachusetts as well as New Hampshire.

Arthur was a member of the LaFayette Club in Lowell. His greatest joy however, came from his family and he enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them.

Along with his wife Lorraine, Arthur is survived and will be deeply missed by his 2 children, Michelle C. McCarthy and her husband Robert of Hudson, NH and Joseph A. LaPlante and his wife Jennifer of Manchester, NH; 4 cherished grandchildren, Matthew and Ella McCarthy, Daelene LaPlante and William Dionne, and also several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: At Arthur’s request, there are no calling hours. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday November 8th at St. Rita’s Parish in Lowell. Burial will be private. Lowell, MA – George W. Cormier, 75, died suddenly, Friday, November 1st, 2013 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Mary M. (O’Donovan) with whom he shared 46 years of marriage.

George was born in Lowell, MA on July 29, 1938, the son of the late Emilie Allard, from Piopolis, Quebec, Canada and Edward L. Cormier from Salem, MA. He graduated from Ste. Jeanne d’Arc Grammar School in 1951 and St. Joseph Boy’s High School in 1955, both in Lowell. George earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Lowell Technological College. George proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1961-1963.

In his younger years, George was a 1961 Golden Gloves 147lb. Boxing Champion. Furthermore, he was All Army 147lb. Champion in 1962, and All Service 147 lb. Champion in 1963.

For more than 40 years, George was the hard-working, dedicated owner and operator of Billerica Furniture Co. in Billerica, MA. He was well-known for his humor, free advice, and always putting a smile on everyone’s face. He had many return customers from all over New England and beyond over the years.

George was extremely devoted to his wife Mary and three daughters. He traveled yearly with his wife and children during their childhood with his favorite destination being Ireland, the homeland of his wife. He also loved vacationing in Naples, FL.

George was a selfless man and was always thinking of others before himself. He was there to help everyone whenever they needed anything. George was a fun and charismatic guy with a never ending flow of jokes and funny stories. He enjoyed reading, solving Sudoku puzzles, shoveling snow, playing Nintendo and had an extensive music collection that he listened to daily. On the more personal side, George was a religiously faithful man, attending Mass daily at St. Margaret’s Church in Lowell.

Along with his wife Mary, George is survived by and will be deeply missed by his three daughters, Mary Gail Waterfield and her husband Jason of Chantilly, VA, Colleen M. Cormier of Londonderry, NH, and Kerry Ann Cormier of Lowell; his siblings, Rev. Leo G. Cormier of Dracut, Edward L. Cormier and his wife Lorraine of No. Chelmsford, Lucille Cayer and her husband Richard of Kissimmee, FL, Ruth Shaw and Alice Page both of Dracut; his three beloved grandchildren, Taylor Berry of East Machias, ME, and Aidan and Kayla Waterfield of Chantilly, VA; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.

George was predeceased by four brothers, Charles E. Cormier, Sr., Robert F. Cormier, Alfred N. Cormier, and Francis L. Cormier, and by three sisters, Irene Ste. Marie, T. Jean Ste. Marie, and Anna Walters. He was also predeceased by many dear friends, especially Thomas Tannian and Richard Blaney.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 3:00PM-7:00PM on FRIDAY, November 8th at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. His funeral will take place from the funeral home at 8:15 a.m. SATURDAY with his Funeral Mass to follow at 9:30AM at St. Margaret’s Church in Lowell. Cremation will follow. Burial will take place on TUESDAY, November 12th at noon at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Chelmsford. Helen Kleczkowski

DRACUT-Helen M. (Adamczyk) Kleczkowski, 92, died peacefully November 6th at Lowell General Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter S. Kleczkowski, who passed away in 1998.

Helen was born in Dracut on June 13, 1921, a daughter of the late Mary (Vingradska) and Martin Adamczyk. She received her education in Dracut and was a graduate of Dracut High School.

For many years Helen was employed as a “Mill City Girl”, working for Joan Fabrics in Lowell until her retirement.

She enjoyed crocheting, at which she was quite talented, but above all she enjoyed spending time with her family who meant the world to her.

She is survived and will be greatly missed by her sons Walter S. Kleczkowski Jr. and Charles Kleczkowski and his wife Lucille, all of Dracut; 6 Grandchildren, Walter S. Kleczkowski III, Mark Kleczkowski and his wife Alicia, Gregg Kleczkowski and his wife Kari, Sue Ferreira and her husband Phil, Ann DeLuca, Charles Kleczkowski Jr. and his wife Amanda; 6 great-grandchildren, Joe Rufiange, Olivia and Sophia DeLuca, Philip and Matthew Ferreira and Jacob Kleczkowski; as well as her sister Marion Horman and sister-in-law Irene Adamczyk, both of Dracut, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister Wanda Hudzik and brother Henry Adamczyk.

Mr. Richard L. Gladue, 80 of Dracut, died Saturday at his home with his family. Born in Lawrence, Mr. Gladue had been an area resident all his life. The son of the late Oscar and Gertrude (Crucius) Gladue, he is a graduate of Central Catholic High School then when on to serve Honorably in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and achieved the rank of Sergeant. Upon returning home he was employed at Western Electric and went on to retire from Robinson’s Express. Mr. Gladue enjoyed carpentry, painting, and NASCAR. Most of all he loved to travel with his wife and spend time with his family. Mr. Gladue is survived by his wife of 57 years Patricia (Donahue) Gladue, three daughters: Judith and her husband Roger Marquis of Methuen, Katherine Chohan of Lowell, and Dawn and her husband Francis Holahan of Woburn. One son: Richard Gladue of Dracut, one sister: Evelyn and her husband Donald Bourassa of Laconia, NH. There are seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

DRACUT- Joseph E. Shattuck, 82, passed away Friday, November 8th, at Merrimack Valley Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Donna M. (Collins) Shattuck, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.

Joseph was born in Tewksbury on June 12, 1931, a son of the late Charlotte Shattuck and Roy P. Smith.

For many years Joseph was the owner and operator of Dracut Upholstery and Decor, and later worked for 3M as a Product Supervisor for 5 years until his retirement.

Joseph was an extremely hard worker, as well as a dedicated family man. He appreciated the great outdoors, and was an avid fisherman. He was also a huge New England sports fan.

In addition to his wife Donna, he is survived by his 5 children; Joseph E. Shattuck Jr and his wife Carol of Lowell, Susan Long and her husband Norman of Billerica, Kenneth F. Shattuck and his wife Mary of Nashua, Kelley L. Belleau and Kimberly Shattuck, both of Lowell, as well as the granddaughter he raised, Chelsea LeClair of Dracut, and seven additional grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

DRACUT- Norma L. (Johnson) Ziemba, 71, died peacefully on Thursday, November 14th, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill. She was the beloved wife of Thaddeus J. Ziemba, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.

Norma was born in Lowell, MA on February 26, 1942, a daughter of the late Mary (Golden) and Edward R Johnson. She was educated in St. Michael’s grammar schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School, class of 1960.

She was previously employed as a special needs bus driver for 20 years and was also employed as a secretary at Raytheon.

Norma was an exceptional woman who enjoyed life and lived everyday to the fullest. In her free time she enjoyed horse racing and was an very adventurous person. She took many trips and loved to travel, especially to places such as Las Vegas and Walt Disney World. She was an avid New England sports fan and loved watching and buying from her favorite channel the Q.V.C. Network. But her most cherished time was spent with her loving family, especially with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her four children, David Ziemba and his wife Jennifer of Lowell, Gary Ziemba and his wife Jennifer of Dracut, Edward Ziemba of Dracut, and Jody Ziemba of Dracut; her siblings, Barbara McQuaid and her husband Jack of Hudson, NH, Robert R. Johnson of Cherryhill, NJ, Allen Paul Johnson of Derry, NH, Helen Mary Asselin of Lowell, Deborah Grimshaw and her husband Grimmy of Lowell; sister-in-law Irene Defrietas of Lowell; eight grandchildren, Trevor, Chelsea, Tyler, Colin, Casey, Chase, Kyle, and Shane; two best friends, Dotty Johnson and Charlene Macklin, as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and close friends.

She is predeceased by her brother Edward Johnson and by her second mom Hunna Johnson.

LOWELL-Michael (Micky) R. LaBranche, 66, a Life Long Lowell Resident, died Wednesday, November 20th, at Lowell General Hospital after a short battle with cancer. He was the husband of Judith (Gonsalves) LaBranche, with whom he shared 37 years of marriage

Michael was born in Lowell on October 29, 1947, a son of the late Jean (Forget) and Alfred E. LaBranche. He received his education in Lowell, and was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School.

For more than 45 years, Michael owned and operated Textile Aquarium in Lowell. He was passionate and knowledgeable about aquariums and loved nothing more than his store and his customers. He was also very committed to the neighborhood in which his store was located, often hiring local kids to help out in the store and teaching them his love of fish and aquariums. He was always willing to help out fellow enthusiasts, free with both discounts and advice. When not at his store, Michael enjoyed trips to the beach and dining at Markey’s and Brown’s Lobster Pounds. He would often debate with his brother Bill which restaurant served the best fried haddock. In his younger years he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army reserves and was an avid bowler.

In addition to his devoted wife Judith, he is survived by his brother William LaBranche and his wife Gail of Dracut, his in-laws Sabino and Alice Gonsalves of Lowell, his niece and godchild Lisa Parker and her husband David and nephew William LaBranche Jr.,several great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends, as well as his beloved Chihuahuas.

DRACUT, MA- Eileen F. Enger, 90, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, November 26th, at her home with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph D. Enger who preceded her in 1982.

Eileen was born in Lowell on March 3, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Smith and Mary (Courtemarche) Smith. She received her education through the Lowell School System and was a graduate of Lowell High School. She resided in Lowell and Dracut her entire life.

She proudly served her country during WWII enlisted in the United States Navy where she worked packing parachutes. She was also employed at Raytheon as an assembler for 25 years until her retirement in 1988.
In her free time, Eileen enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, and in her younger years cross stitched, but her most cherished time was spent with her loving family.

She is survived by her four children, Christine Koutrobis of Dracut, Ralph Enger and his wife Janine of Beverly Hills, FL, Denise Enger of Dracut, and Glenn Enger and his wife Julie of Dracut; her two sisters, Margaret Goodwin of Indiana and Jacqueline Marr and her husband James of NH, her six grandchildren, Shawn, Nicole, Kerrie, Brianna, Eric, as well as, several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: At Eileen’s request there will be no calling hours. Friends and relatives are invited to Eileen’s Funeral Mass on FRIDAY, November 29th at St. Michael Church in Lowell at 10 AM. LOWELL-John G. Stamas, 92, died Thursday, November 28th at Wingate at Belvidere Nursing Home. He was the beloved husband of the late Frances L. Stamas, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage.

John was born in Lowell on January 28, 1921, a son of the late Malamo (Antonatou) and George Stamatoyanakis. He received his education in Lowell, and was a graduate of Lowell High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and after his honorable discharge went on to study at Bentley College, where he received his Associates Degree in accounting.

Until his retirement, John worked as an accountant for the former Ft. Devens. In his retirement he worked as a store keeper for the Solomon Mental Health Center in Lowell.

John was an avid sports enthusiast who greatly enjoyed following all of the New England teams, and had a special love for the Red Sox. More than anything he was a family man, who loved spending time with relatives, and especially doting on his grandchildren.

John is survived and will be deeply missed by his children George Stamas and Deborah Ryan and her husband William, all of Lowell; his grandchildren Nicholas Ryan of Lowell, Kathleen Ryan of Burlington, VT and Marianne Ryan of Lowell; his godchild Byron Themelis of Salisbury, as well as his nieces and nephews, George Stamatoyanakis of Lowell, MaryAnn Parker of Lancaster, SC, Alexandra Golden of N. Andover, Virgina Costa of Methuen, Louis Leakeas and Debbie Leakeas, both of Lowell and Sandy Leakeas of Huntsville, AL.

He was predeceased by his siblings Costas Stamatoyanakis and Anne Manuel.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday, December 1st from 2 to 6 p.m. at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave, Dracut. His funeral will be held from the funeral home on Monday, December 2nd at 9 a.m., with his Funeral Service to take place at 10 a.m. at the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, Dracut. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s memory to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 1160 Mammoth Road, Dracut, MA 01826.

LOWELL- Barbara A. (Caisse) Crofts, 62, died Thursday, November 28th at Northwood Rehab and Healthcare Center. She was the beloved wife of William L. Crofts, with whom she shared 42 years of marriage.

Barbara was born in Lowell on September 13, 1951, a daughter of the late Geneieve (Butzkiewicz) and Raymond J. Caisse. She attended High School in Venezuela and furthered her education by attending technical college.

For more than 20 years, Barbara worked as a medical transcriptionist for the St. John’s Hospital System.

Barbara lived to go on cruises and went on more than 20 in her lifetime. She also enjoyed cooking but especially baking, but above all she loved being a mother and a grandmother and spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband William, she is survived and will be deeply missed by her children Erica Crofts and her fiance Adam LaBrecque of Dracut, Rebecca “Becky” Van of Springboro, OH and and Matthew Crofts of Dracut; her 2 granddaughters Samantha and Ashlyn Van; her siblings Raymond Caisse and his wife Nancy of Ayer and Janet Bisson and her husband Victor of Barefoot Bay, FL, as well as her sister-in-law Stacia Caisse of Newton, NH.

She was predeceased by her brother Paul Caisse.
